I really have no clue what some of these negative comment people are talking about. We were very impressed with pretty much everything. We are a medical flight crew that were flying missions all day and we're able to get to the airport during a pilot swap. My partner and I were ready to eat at the airport people told us to try Jerry Neel's. This place is legit. The ribs had perfect amount of smoke flavor, tender, juicy with just the right amount of tug that quality BBQ is supposed to have. Cole slaw was decent. Beans were perfect. You can tell the ice tea is made traditionally (we drained several glasses). My partner got the chopped beef platter and literally wiped the plate clean. If that doesn't say goodness, I don't know what does. The black berry cobbler (WOW!) should be illegal because I'm sure there is something addictive in it. Our only complaint w as the cashier. She seemed to be annoyed that we walked in the door and didn't seem to want to be there herself. HOWEVER; our server was absolutely fantastic. She was happy, friendly and accommodating. Just like the commercial says will happen, the owner came out and talked to us and asked how we were doing. She was gracious, friendly and happy that we were there. That's what a good owner does and we appreciated it. This is a place that I will not only be back to, but also bring my family to (we live 2 hours away) and will definitely tell my friends about. Fantastic!!!

The baked beans were good. The potato salad was mediocre. The bbq sauce is good. The sliced beef was mediocre sauce was needed. The microwave was used to reheat the meat. If you want the taste of bbq it will do.

This place is great if you don't know jack about how bbq should taste. Absolutely the worst chopped pork I have ever had. Being from Memphis I am a bit of a bbq snob but seriously this is a place for those without tastebuds. YOU DO NOT repeat DO NOT serve pulled or chopped pork drowned in sauce! It is a clear sign you are hiding subpar meat flavor. The brisket sliced too thin. No smoke ring at all. Sausage ok but a 4th grader can smoke sausage. Avoid this place at all costs cause it is not bbq. The sides are overpriced and suck as well.

Turn the air conditioning off. The last thing that this place needs is to run off customers due to hypothermia. The food was meh! I ordered the brisket dinner with the "famous" twice baked potato and fried okra. The brisket was sliced rice paper thin and was as dry as the Mohave. The okra was ok but it needed sauce to liven it up. I'm not going to talk about those potatoes. Let's just say if you're brave enough to go there after this review then DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get them. You will be sorely disappointed. The service was cool. Another black eye to all of this was the customer sitting across from us getting molded bread with his meal. All meals served there have bread so you know we checked ours too. I will never come back here. This place is like a lot of old school joints in Fayetteville that have survived on their reputations. Once fab and a great place to visit but now should either revamp their entire set up or shut its doors. The people of Fort Smith deserve so much better.

Best BBQ you will have!! Family owned business for over 30 years! I don't eat BBQ from anywhere else. My favorite things are the twiced baked potatoes and strawberry shortcake. You can't find items like that anywhere else! The BBQ sauce is the best I've ever had as well! Have to try it!

The sliced beef is not identifiable as brisket - it's almost like a smoked deli meat. I've never had anything like it; a decent sandwich but not what you would expect. The twice baked potato is a staple here, and it manages to be both nasty and tasty at the same time. I would not avoid this place but would not seek it out, either.

Over priced! Not good. (Bathroom was flooded). I don't plan to go back. I did like their baked beans, but the sandwich and slaw were some of the worst BBQ & slaw I have ever had. $14 with tip was way too much $ for something that tasted like it came on a lunchroom tray. Very disappointed!

Great BBQ place. This is hands down one of my favorite places in Fort Smith to eat. Great BBQ, great service, good prices and great folks!

Friendly staff and amiable owner but the food is pretty poor even by the local standards. The vegetables are completely tasteless and all of the BBQ dishes are poor quality meat smothered in corn syrup laden sweet BBQ sauce so you won't notice this difference. The twice baked potato is smothered with american processed cheese product instead of real cheddar or jack cheese which makes it look, smell, and taste gross. Food is served nearly instantaneously which corroborates the assumption that the food is sitting in heaters for hours waiting for an order while the taste is cooked out of it. OK if you want cheap poorly prepared BBQ served quickly by friendly people.

I was never a fan of BBQ to begin with, so I wasn't too thrilled to come here. Well that sure did change after I got my meal. The sliced pork dinner is AMAZING! it got better with every bite. The fries are battered and delicious, the twice baked potato is to die for and then the pork.... Makes my mouth water just thinking about that place again. The service is great and the mason jars are a nice touch too, really gives you that back woods feeling. Awesome place to eat!

It's a little pricey, but that's how bar-b-q places are. I absolutely love their sliced beef sandwiches. Their okra and fries are really delicious too! They're super sweet and friendly there, whenever I've gone at least. I love their mason jar drinking cups!
